What Is A Chihuahua Like?????
Background:
The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world. A native of Mexico and named after a Mexican province, the Chihuahua comes in two coat types - The Smooth Coated Chihuahua and the Long Coated Chihuahua. Surprisingly enough, this tiny dog will not hesitate to pick a fight with a larger breed, preferring other Chihuahuas to dogs of any other breed. Not particularly tolerant or cold weather or unruly children, the Chihuahua requires some special care in raising it.
Personality:
A lively, courageous dog, this is sometimes an aggressive breed due to its willingness to take offense quickly with other animals. A good pet and watchdog in an apartment, it requires care in winter as it is very susceptible to the cold.
Physical Appearance:
Height 6" - 9"
Weight Maximum 6 lbs
Coat Smooth - Soft, short and glossy
Long - Soft, flat with an undercoat
Color Any color
Head Apple domed skull with a sharp muzzle
Ears Large and erect
Eyes Full, dark or luminous ruby
Body Small, well sprung ribs
Tail Carried curved or looped over the back

center>What To Look For In a Chihuahua
Chihuahuas Come in "Any color, solid, marked or spashed". This is what makes every chihuahua litter exciting! One never knows what colors will pop up! Thats why it is difficult to order a specific colorwhen seeking a chihuahua. Here are the colors listing with AKC but there are many more combinations that exist! If your chihuahua is a rare color many times the breeder will have to get a special color code from akc. Long coat(and sometimes smooth) chihuahuas change colors so much as babies that the color might not be accurately recorded if they are registered under 6 months! AKC COLORS & CODES
